Buddy Ewing

Buddy is a funeral director and cemeterian who brings 18 years experience serving families to Corpus Christi and is currently licensed in Texas and Louisiana.  Buddy earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from William Carey College and a Mortuary Science Degree from Amarillo College.  Buddy is currently serving on the board of the International Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Association, active member of the Texas Cemetery Association, and past president of the Southern Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Association.  When not working, Buddy and his wife, Chrissie, enjoy traveling, visiting with friends and family, and spending time with their two children, Rivers and Aldyn.

John D. Winstead

Funeral Home Manager

John’s roots run deep in Corpus Christi where he has been part of several  successful family owned and operated businesses. All of those businesses have cared for Corpus Christi residents spanning back to 1966.  John got involved in the funeral industry in 1994 by providing funeral homes, limousines throughout South Texas and the Valley. After selling the limousine business John moved to Kerrville, Texas and continued  broadening his knowledge in the funeral business to include managing the preneed department and crematory for Kerrville Funeral Home. In wanting to know all aspects of the funeral industry, he spent some time on the road representing Matthews Casket Company calling on Texas funeral homes providing funeral products. After determining that he really liked helping families, in their time of need, he went back to school and obtained his Funeral Directors license and returned to Kerrville Funeral home as a funeral director and operations manager of Kerrville and Kimble Funeral Homes.  Family always being top priority to John, family called upon his help, so he moved back to Corpus Christi. He was asked to help one of his 5 siblings to position a company to take public or sell. After a few years he was instrumental in selling his brother’s company to General Electric. Being that he was the backbone of the company he was asked to stay on and run the business for GE. But the day came to choose Odesa, Texas or Corpus Christi, Texas and the choice was easy for John. This was a true opportunity for John to return to his real passion and that was carrying for families.  John is our Funeral Home Manager for Seaside Funeral Home and Corpus Christi Funeral Home. He and his wife Kimberley have been married since 1989 and have one daughter and a son who is also a funeral director. He is also blessed to have one grandson and hoping for more grandkids in the future.

Ida O'Donnell

Funeral Director

Ida grew up in the Annaville/Calallen area and graduated from Calallen High School. She has been assisting families at Seaside & Corpus Christi Funeral Home since 2007. Ida is dedicated to helping families through one of the most difficult times in their lives.  

Debra Foster

Funeral Director

Debra is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is a graduate of Tuloso-Midway High School. Debra is a graduate of Del Mar College-AAS and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service, AAS, Houston, Texas Sigma Eta. She was employed with Earthman Funeral Directors in Houston, Texas for seven years. In 1998, She came to Seaside Funeral Home and Corpus Christi Funeral as a funeral director and family counselor. Debra is a member of the Westside Business Association and a member of the Corpus Christi Black Chamber.

Roland Gonzales

Funeral Director

Roland has been with Seaside Memorial Park and Funeral Home as a funeral director since 2006. He has been in the funeral industry for 32 years and at one time owned his own funeral home for fourteen years. The greatest satisfaction Roland receives is when a family thanks him for helping them in their time of need. Roland has three children and two grandchildren that he enjoys spending time with.

Marty Scott

Funeral Director

Marty has over 27 years in the funeral service business. He worked for Service Corporation International for more than 20 years and managed one of their funeral home locations in North Alabama before moving to Corpus Christi. He is a graduate of Jefferson State Mortuary College in Birmingham. He and his wife Shirley have been married for 35 years and have three daughters and ten grandchildren.

Sandra Salazar

Funeral Director

Sandra was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. She began her career in funeral service at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, Texas in December 2012. She is a graduate of Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She moved to Corpus Christi in January 2017 to join Seaside Funeral Home and is eager to serve families in our community.

Paula Porter

Funeral Director

Paula Porter brings 25 years of experience as a licensed funeral director and embalmer to the Funeral Home. Previously, Paula was Funeral Director at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. She was awarded the Texas Funeral Director Association Woman of the Year Award in 2015 and the Corpus Christi Black Chamber of Commerce Professional Woman Award in 2015.
