Pedro “Pete” Guerrero Jr., age 68, passed away on April 2, 2024 in his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on May 27, 1955 to Pedro and Julia Guerrero in Donna, Texas where he was raised.
Pete was a loyal employee at the Valero Refinery in Corpus Christi as a process operator and retired after 32 years of service. After retirement he explored the open road for a short period as a semi-truck driver.
Pete’s greatest joy was his family. He was proud of his children and their families and was a very generous man to all. He will always be known for his courageous nature, his sense of humor, his honesty, his faith, his loving heart, and his resilience against all odds. Pete’s zest for life and love of his family gave him the will to stay strong until the very end.
At a young age, he enjoyed cycling and martial arts. He was an adventurous man who loved kayaking even in rough waters. He enjoyed fishing with his family, spending time beachside, and was beginning to learn the guitar. He loved every second behind the wheel of his Harley and playfully teasing his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Julia Guerrero; his sisters: Evelia Guerrero, Elpidia Cantu, Gregoria Perez, Ebelia Garcia; and his brothers: Ramon Guerrero, Andres Guerrero, Genaro Guerrero, and Gilberto Guerrero.
He is survived by his former wife, Yolanda R. Guerrero and their five children; Pedro Guerrero III, Gabriel Guerrero, Noemi (David) Harbison, Amanda (Kevin) Meza, and David Guerrero; his seven grandchildren: David Guerrero Jr., Aizlynn Meza, Evey Harbison, Kyleigh Meza, Brooklynn Meza, Brayden Meza, and Jake Harbison; his brother, Juan (Odelia) Guerrero; and his sister; Gloria Trevino.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11th from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel in Corpus Christi, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 12th at 10 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. Inurnment will be at Seaside Memorial Park at a later date.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are: Juan Guerrero, Pedro Guerrero III, Gabriel Guerrero, David Guerrero, David Harbison and Kevin Meza.
